I had the privilege to photograph my friend Emily and her beautiful family while she and her husband were back home from overseas for two weeks R&R.  They are BOTH currently serving our country in the Middle East.  I can’t begin to imagine the difficulties and sacrifice involved in having to leave a child behind to fulfill their duties, and thankfully, they will be home for good in December.  I am so grateful to them for their service, along with all of the other men and women courageously serving this country.  I don’t think they were expecting to come back during our newfound Texas “monsoon” season, and neither was I!  After a couple of reschedules and a location change, we managed to fit in a mini-session right before they left on a cloudy, misty morning.  Little Madison had a lot of exploring to do, and I had a blast following her around.  Thank you again Josh and Emily, and I’m looking forward to your return in December!

Miss Emory is Turning One!

September 22, 2009

Yes, my sweet little baby is turning one in a few weeks!  We took her out  for a little mini-shoot to get some shots for her birthday party invitation.  Your eyes are not deceiving you … that is a bow in her hair!  I’ve been waiting for this day for soooo long.  :)   It may only be hanging on by a couple of strands, but that’s all you need!

I also want to go ahead and give you a little sneak peek of one of my new products – cards and announcements!  I have some beautiful and versatile templates to use as birth announcements, graduation announcements, save-the-date cards, holiday cards, birthday invitations – the possibilities are really endless.  I customized one of these for Emory’s birthday party invitation as you can see below.  Emory's Invitation Web

I’ll have more examples to show soon!

I had the privilege of photographing a really awesome couple for their maternity session (and their upcoming newborn session … any day now :) ).  Jessie and Adam are actually high school classmates of mine (Go Mustangs!).  They were laid back and right at ease from the get-go, so it made the whole session a breeze for me and hopefully lots of fun for all three of us.  I also got to use my new vintage wooden blocks – I LOVE these.  They photographed just as well as I had hoped!  Jessie was a real sport too – she got into all kinds of poses that are not very comfortable for someone in their last weeks of pregnancy, but I think it was totally worth it.   Thanks for being such a blast to work with, and I can’t wait to meet little Alanna!

Keeping It Fresh …

September 4, 2009

I just wanted to let all of my awesome readers know that I completed a semi-major overhaul of my website last night.  I updated the galleries, added a testimonials page with some very kind words from my clients, and my Flash page is now IPhone compatible!  If you click on my Flash page from your IPhone, you will be able to view all of my information and galleries in an exclusively-made-for-IPhone format!  It’s pretty cool!  Well, so I’ve been told, I don’t have an IPhone …. yet …. :)  !  So, check it out and let me know what you think!  And of course, I won’t leave you without a photo or two …these are some of my favorites from our August trip to Mexico.

Have I mentioned how much I love photographing little kids?  It typically involves a lot of chasing, entertaining, sweat, and (sometimes) tears, but the end results are always so worth it!  :)   This session was no exception.  We had such a good time hanging out by the pond, swinging, and playing on the playground.  All of us (including Mom), were sweating through our clothes by the end, but it was a blast!  Brayden’s big blue eyes and Brynne’s sweet (and sometimes goofy) smiles made for some really great shots.  And yes, there are even a few of them smiling together, thanks to Mom’s crazy behind-the-camera antics. :P
