Oh my goodness, I don’t know if I have ever laughed so hard at a session as I did with Olivia and her mom.  She is such a happy easy-going girl, which made photographing her oh so easy and fun.  She opted for a vintage urban feel to her images, so we walked all over downtown McKinney, one of my favorite locations.  Olivia is a really talented softball player, a budding photographer, and a Harry Potter fan … all things that we incorporated into her session, so much fun!  She had also decided in the week or two before her session to attend UT in the fall, so we got some fun shots in my “burnt orange” (NOT rust orange) chair too.  Thank you so much for a super fun session Olivia, and I wish you all the best at UT!

Marisa was a referral from one of my 2012 seniors and my first Naaman Forest student to photograph, so it was fun to get to work with a friend of a friend and a new school too!  Marisa really wanted a mix of natural and urban images, so we wandered around downtown Plano and Breckenridge park on what ended up being a PERFECT night.  Her sweet dog Hannah even got to make her modeling debut, although I think she would have preferred to have been sleeping. :)  Marisa brought some really awesome outfits, my jaw about hit the floor when they showed me her amazing formal gown at her consult.  Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, but talented too!  Marisa will be going to UT in the fall where she will major in psychology and join their speech/debate team.  Beautiful and smart, what a killer combination. :)  Thanks for a fabulous session Marisa, and I wish you all the best in Austin in the fall!

Will was the last of only a couple of senior guys I got to work with this year.  Will was such a trooper, he knew how important this was to his mom and really made the best of it. In fact, I even got this glowing review after we were done: “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.”  It doesn’t get much better than that from a senior guy! :P  They definitely wanted an outdoorsy look to the images, and we got to use this amazing new bridge as well.  Of course, I always love it when seniors bring musical instruments to their sessions … there’s nothing like live music while you shoot to get the creative juices flowing. Will is a wrestler (we had to reschedule his original session date due to a black eye) and will be going into petroleum engineering.  Best of luck next year Will, and thanks for a great session!

When Sarah’s mom contacted me back in January, there were in a bind to get her senior portraits done quickly.  We had our consultation on a Monday and shot on a Friday, and still managed to pull off a fabulous session with a mini-styled portion too!  We were able to capture a good mix of urban and natural images for Sarah, and even worked in some of her hobbies and interests: running, art, and baking of course!  I loved how the baking concept came together.  Her mom was such a trooper and brought a ton of different baking/kitchen accessories (as did I) – I think between the two of us we could have served a banquet. :P  It was wonderful to have makeup artist Courtney on hand as well.  Sarah got lots of great variety in her hair and makeup, and her outfits were just gorgeous.  Thanks for a wonderful session Sarah (and Mom), and best of luck at Baylor next year!

I’m not sure if I have ever laughed so much at a session as I did hanging out with Abby and her mom.  Abby has such a vivacious personality, it made her an absolute joy to photograph.  We twirled and skipped and walked our way all over Addison Circle on a beautiful evening.  Abby brought along some of her favorites books too, it’s always fun to incorporate hobbies and interests into a session.  Thank you for an absolutely wonderful session Abby, and best of luck at OU in the fall!

I can’t believe I had to wait until February to photograph my first Class of 2013 senior guy!  I’m so thankful that Daniel and his mom contacted me, I really enjoy working with senior guys and it had been way too long.  I had so much fun hanging out with Daniel during his shoot, it turns out we are both huge “Scrubs” fans, which totally made my day. And I owe Daniel big time … I’ve asked almost every guy who I’ve worked with to wear a suit, and no one has ever taken me up on it, until now. :)  It was so much fun, and I think Daniel looks pretty “GQ” in his suit, am I right? Daniel will be studying pre-med in college, and I can’t wait to see what awesome things are ahead for him.  Thanks for a wonderful session Daniel, and best of luck next year!

This is the first year that I have gotten to work with Lake Highlands seniors, and they have been such a treat!  Mary Claire was certainly no exception.  Not only is she a beautiful young woman, but she has a heart of gold.  I love that her faith was so important to her that she wanted to incorporate it into her session, it just speaks volumes about the type of person she is.  She is a trooper too – we shot this session when she was about a month into recovery from a hip surgery.  She crutched herself all over White Rock Lake, I can not imagine how exhausted she was by the end of the day.  You can bet she never lost her smile though!  Well, except when I told her to. :P Mary Claire plans on attending UT and later going to Physical Therapy school.  Thanks for spending the day with me Mary Claire, and keep on letting your light shine!

I’m so excited to introduce my Class of 2014 Senior Models!  I have a lovely group of girls this year – sweet, kind, outgoing, AND gorgeous!  This year’s senior model shoot was quite the collaboration, and apart from these beautiful girls of course, there are lots of other people to thank!  Amanda from Reflections DFW glammed up each of the girls with complete airbrush makeup, and as usual, did a fabulous job.  Ella Bleu Boutique provided most of our wardrobe, you definitely want to go check them out if you are around the Shops at Legacy!  Haley, a past senior client herself, was my official reflector-holder and assistant for the second year in a row and I couldn’t have done it without her.  And last but not least, these four lovely girls and their moms hung out with me almost all afternoon and toughed out some cool temperatures to help us get some amazing shots.  I’m so excited to work with each of you this year, bring on the Class of 2014!

It was such an honor this year to work with the young ladies (and moms) of the Richardson chapter of the National Charity League.  What an amazing group of seniors!  I had the opportunity to spend a little bit of time with each senior over several different days during the late summer, fall, and winter months.  It was exciting to see each girl’s take on their official white senior presentation dress, and it really pushed me creatively to try to capture each girl’s personality and interests in our short time together.  I truly enjoyed myself so much, and I count it a great blessing that I got to work with such a wonderful bunch.  I know that these girls have great things waiting for them just around the corner, and I wish the best of luck to each of you as you move on to the next phase of your lives!
