After a reschedule amidst our arctic blast and ice/snow storm in early February, we were finally able to get Laura’s session in earlier this week.  While it looked like we were headed for another cold day, Laura really wanted to go ahead and move forward, and I’m so glad she did!  Although it was a little chilly, we couldn’t have asked for more beautiful lighting.  As you can see, Laura has a gorgeous smile – she made it way too easy for me!  We had a blast walking around one of my favorite locations and finding some new spots to use (as well as some old favorites), and the colors in her wardrobe looked awesome against the more organic backgrounds.  Thanks for toughing out the weather, I hope you’ll think it was worth it too.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

It has actually been a while since I got to share a senior session with you (shocking!), and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to get back in the groove than with photographing beautiful Kara!  I have known Kara’s family (or should I say they have known me) possibly since I was born.  I was so honored when they contacted me about taking Kara’s senior portraits!  Not only that, but they dropped the most gorgeous new location in my lap.  Kara bravely walked through the wildlife (in her nice boots) to get some of these shots, and I’m sure glad that she did!  I had such a great time with you guys, and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I LOVE these kiddos!  I LOVE the fact that I’ve known them since they were born (or pretty close to it!), I LOVE the fact that they are so goofy and sweet and hilarious every time I see them, and I LOVE the fact that Mom brings them in from Abilene to let me photograph them.  What an honor!  :)   They certainly did not disappoint this year.  We laughed and tickled and jumped and discussed passing gas, and then begged, pleaded, and bribed to squeeze every last smile out of them.  :)   Totally worth it!  And OH MY GOODNESS, aren’t their outfits amazing?!?  When Mom sent me the link to the boys’ sweaters, I just about died.  I couldn’t have asked for a better session.  Missing you guys already!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

This one makes me laugh so much … I love it!

I had the pleasure of photographing my very good friend Erica May and her extended family a couple of weeks ago.  It was a blast – they were so laid-back and low-stress, which is not very common for an extended family session! :)   Erica had been hoping for some nice fall-like weather to suit their ADORABLE fall-ish wardrobe, but alas, it was not to be.  It was HOT, but they stuck it out without complaining and laughing all the way.  To wrap up the day, I also shot some solo pics of Erica for her websites, and I LOVE her outfit – it warms this Texas girl’s heart. :)   Thanks so much for your patience, and I hope you enjoy your massive sneak peek!

Chandler is the last (but certainly not least!) of my 2011 Senior Reps. We met up a few weeks ago on a stifling hot evening. Chandler was looking for a really woodsy feel, and when I stumbled upon this gem of a location I knew it would be perfect! It was nice that we got to stay in the shade, but that also meant we were getting no breeze – I’m amazed that Chandler managed to look so fresh the whole time! :) And can I just say that I would kill to have her hair?!? Oh my, the light was just hitting it so perfectly this evening. I also got to use the vintage suitcases I’ve been stockpiling, and I was really pleased with how they came out. Chandler is an amazing singer and performer, and I LOVE that she brought her “faces” of theater for some fun shots. That just goes to show that you don’t have to be an athlete or play a musical instrument to use a cool prop! I really look forward to working with you this year Chandler, enjoy your sneak peek! :)

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to ease back into shooting after my vacation then working with Lauren and Adam.  Apart from the fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat, it was an absolutely wonderful shoot.  These two were so at ease and sweet with each other, it made my job all too easy.  You could tell immediately how close they are and how well they get along, and I hope that comes through in these images as well.  They brought some great outfits too!  They each came with lots of options and then we spent the first few minutes of the shoot choosing outfits and making a plan of attack.  If you ever aren’t sure about wardrobe choices, feel free to do the same!  Thanks Lauren, Adam, and Mom for enduring that unforgiving Texas heat – I hope you’ll think it was worth it too!  :)
